Off-Grid Homestead
An off-grid homestead with a 1.5 kW turbine and twelve 210 Watt panels mounted an a Dual Axis Array Tech Tracker. The customers Balance of System (BOS) is located in a 2200 gallon cistern approximately 6' H x 6' W x 8' L (you can pick these up for $1.00 per gallon). The cistern was buried under ground, which provides an ideal enclosure for the BOS, keeping the equipment cooler and providing passive environmental control. The BOS includes a Magnum 4448 Inverter/Charger, Midnite Solar 60 Amp Charge Controller, and 16 6V Rolls/Surrete L-16 Batteries for a 48 volt nominal system.
